“I said enjoy life not end your life.’

Yours truly enjoys a ranch water

Ozzy Osbourne famously was asked about the lyrics of the song Paranoid. His answer, the title to this post, provides the kind of hard-hitting philosophical truth that only Ozzie and Yogi Berra can deliver. What Ozzy recommended and what many of us fail to practice is the conscious taking of time to enjoy life. Success literature teaches us how to maximize our time, how to maximize our skills, how to make more money, how to be more efficient, and even how to meditate most effectively. This constant striving can turn even a relaxing weekend into just another rat race.

I’m not going to belabor this point because it’s late and I’m ready to move on to other things, but make sure you take some time to appreciate the finer things or even the little things in life. Read a Hemingway novel, make a nice cocktail, cook a good meal, watch the sunset, watch nature in your backyard or listen to good music. take some time off from maximizing everything and just take some time to be. And, if you want to make a ranch water, here is the recipe:

One bottle of Topo Chico mineral water

2 ounces of good blanco tequila

One hefty lime wedge.

Buenas Noches!
